GGPTE made minor changes to the GCT uniforms, and the red piping on tunics & caps was discontinued. Although many old style GCT uniforms & badges remained in use for some time.  In 1975 GGPTE introduced a new uniform & cap design to replace the GCT style.  Now a dark greyish green colour (called "Petrol"), the male cap had a padded lining, and a small chrome & black enamel badge, marked simply with the initials 'GGPTE'.

   Uniforms
The jacket worn by GGPTE drivers, & conductors, was changed to a single breast style, with breast pockets, and plain black plastic buttons. GGPTE inspectors retained a design very similar to the GCT inspectors jacket, but with plain gold coloured buttons.
With minor modifications over the years, these styles of uniform continued to be issued by Strathclyde PTE to bus crews.
